Based on establishment of a dubious link between Big 4 audit firms and fashion, attributed to a girl who blogs in her sweats at her dining room table in Tri-Taylor Chicago, I have been asked to contribute occasionally to this sartorial and somewhat sardonic site.
If you go to my site, re: The Auditors, lyou’ll see I make generous use of fashion, music and popular culture to explain the fine points of accounting regulation, securities regulation and becoming a partner in a Big 4 firm. I particularly like shoes. The ones my fellow accountants, whether women or men (maybe not out in the open,) wear to meetings.
My favorites are the Manolos and the Choos. Spike heels are de riguer for me when attending the PCAOB Standing Advisory Group open meetings and the US Chamber of Commerce confabs in Washington DC. Perhaps it’s because I always stay at the Mayflower Hotel. When in Rome…
I’m usually better dressed than most of my fellow attendees, although not because I’m any wealthier. I was once, but that’s all gone now. I have only my memories, and the credit card bills from 1999, to remind me of those days of tequila and alcatraces.
So here’s a taste of what I like and what I will be looking for in unexpected places here in Chicago and in my travels.
